‘Don’t Vote For Opportunists’

The Northern Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu who is seeking re-election has described some of his competitors as ‘opportunists’.

According to him, some of the aspirants ‘have no good intentions’ for the party in the region and hence ‘are not up to the task’ and therefore, must not be given the chance ‘to destroy the party’ with their divide-and-rule leadership styles which has the potency of dividing the party and ultimately causing it to lose the next general elections.

He alleged that, some of the aspirants are already engaged in vote buying in their bid to win the elections.

‘Some of the aspirants have already started buying votes with their duty oil money but I want them to know that money doesn’t win elections.’

The Northern Regional NPP Executive Election is slated for next month.

The outspoken Chairman, Bugri Naabu, who is competing with the Northern Regional NADMO boss Alhaji Hindu, Yendi constituency chairman known as ‘Dagomba boy’ and other bigwigs in the region claimed he is not perturbed about his competitors since none of them poses any threat to him.

He noted that in 2014 when he stood for the chairmanship position during the regional elections of the party, there were lecturers, doctors and lawyers who competed against him, he, a retired military officer eventually won.

‘History will repeat itself as I will once again be declared the winner of the elections, taking control of the administration of the party in the region’.

Meanwhile, Chairman Bugri Naabu has revealed that, following the cancellation of the polling station elections in three constituencies in the Northern Region, the party has resourced the other constituencies with the necessary logistics to carry out the elections.

He, however, urged party faithful to vote for competent and well to do aspirants who have the progress and development of the party and the region at large at heart.
