Socialite and philanthropist, Aisha Modi, has urged Ghana’s music community to offer their support to veteran artist Okomfo Kwadee while he is still alive and in need.

Kwadee, once Ghana’s renowned hip-life artists, is reportedly facing significant health and financial struggles. A recently circulated video on social media shows the ailing musician looking frail, confused, and struggling to perform his popular hits in his community. His dramatic weight loss and disoriented appearance have raised concerns among his fans and supporters.

In a post on Facebook, Aisha Modi called on fellow musicians and industry figures to come together and help Kwadee now, before it’s too late.

“Don’t wait for Kwadee to die before contributing for his funeral. Now is the time to support him so he can rise again as a musician and continue doing what he loves,” she said.

Aisha emphasized the importance of showing care and appreciation for talented artists while they are still alive, urging the Ghanaian music industry to act before the situation worsens. She also expressed her frustration over the lack of action and called on the Ghana Music Rights Organization to step in, particularly regarding Kwadee’s unpaid royalties.

“Are we going to wait until he dies before we all do something? Are we going to wait until he dies before we celebrate him,” she wrote. “Shame on the Ghana music industry. A very big shame. Where are Okomfo Kwadee’s royalties?”
