Dulcie Boateng, founder of Accra-based retail exhibition, Porials Pitch, has fired back at critics attacking her for overpricing this year’s exhibition stands to GH¢10,000.
Following the success of the event which witnessed over 15,000 shoppers, majority of the vendors have publicly applauded the founder for organising the event, with many confessing they made double profits from sales.
On her Snapchat story, Dulcie reposted a video of a vendor displaying bundles of cash made from the sales. She captioned it, “For those that think that 10k is not worth it, don’t worry, you’re not the target market.”
Ahead of the event on Saturday, Dulcie defended the GH¢10,000 stand price, stating that the pricing is intentional and designed to maximise returns for participating businesses.
“A lot of people do not share that same vision… if they did, they wouldn’t be asking why we charge GH¢10,000 for a stand,” she said.
According to her, Porials Pitch is curated to attract thousands of ready-to-buy patrons, creating a favourable environment for vendors to generate significant sales.
“Thousands of people will be here… and it is up to you to make sure they do not leave without buying,” she stated.
Dulcie Boateng stressed that the event is not a casual marketplace but a deliberately structured commercial platform aimed at driving transactions across all stands.
“We want transactions at every stand… this is not a random event; it is specifically designed for shoppers,” she added.
The Porials Pitch Season 3 was highly successful, characterised as a “phenomenal success” with vibrant energy and a packed crowd at Ghud Park, Accra Mall.
The festival featured 100+ vendors showcasing unique products, including fashion, beauty, technology, and household items. Patrons described the event as a “massive success” and a “vibrant atmosphere” that showcased Dulcie Boateng and her team’s strength as an influencer and organiser.
