Thirty-three executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region, led by the Regional Minister Eric Kwakye Darfour, have declared their support for Freddie Blay, who is seeking to become the next National Chairman of the ruling party.

This came to light when Mr Blay, the acting National Chairman of the party, embarked on a three-day tour of the region to solicit votes from the delegates.

The regional chairman Kiston Akomeng Kissi, First Vice Chairman, Alhaji Umar Bodinga, 2nd Vice Chairman, Barima – Twum, Jerry Osei Poku, Youth Organizer, among others, backed the acting chairman on his campaign tour of the region.

The delegates, who spoke at separate functions, openly promised not to disappoint Mr Blay.

“We need to reward him since the party rewards loyal members.”

The acting National Chairman of the ruling party met the 33 constituency executives at Krobo Odumase, Asamankese, Koforidua, Nkawkaw, Akim Oda and Bunso, among others.

The constituency executives noted that owing to Mr Blay’s contribution to the growth of the party, vision for the party and nation, track-record, international contacts and capacity to attract floating voters, he deserves to be elected as the next national chairman to win the 2020 elections for the party.

The acting National Chairman admonished the party’s delegates to explain the NPP government’s policies and interventions to members at the grassroots level.

This, according to him, would enable them to take full advantage of the opportunities to improve their lives.

Mr Blay said the government has put proper measures in place to develop the country to benefit everybody.

He said the government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has begun fulfilling its campaign promises and would equitably share the national resources among the people.

Mr. Blay said the party has competent and experienced men and women, who are capable of prudently managing the resources to ensure rapid economic growth of the country’s economy.

He gave the assurance that the government would provide the required incentives and regulatory framework to ensure the establishment of factories to create more jobs for the teeming youth.
