EBENAGE HERBAL Production & Consult (EHPC) has presented a cheque for GH¢30,000 to support the ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project’.
The ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project’, an initiative of the Overlord of Asanteman, His Royal Majesty Osei Tutu II, aims at renovating Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), which has limited space.
The ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project’ seeks to raise US$10 million in a public fundraising drive to renovate the 70- year-old in-patient wards at the hospital.
Dr. Ebenezer Agyemang, the founder of EHPC, a leading herbal medicine manufacturer in the Ashanti Regional capital, presented the said amount to the management of the ‘Heal Komfo Anokye Project’ on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at a brief ceremony.
The EHPC founder disclosed that since the announcement by the Asantehene, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mrs. Felicia Agyemang, with the support of management and the board, decided to save a percentage of money from the sale of their products which include Hepaplus Mixture, Pavi and Plasmox to support the King’s laudable initiative.
“So far, we have been able to save GH¢30,000, and because of inflation among other factors, we decided not to wait, but to donate what we have mobilised to support the King’s project,” he said, promising that they would come back to support the project when they are able to gather more funds from the sale of their products.
Dr. Agyemang emphasised EHPC’s commitment to supporting community and national development, disclosing that they were inspired by the Asantehene’s call for collective support and aimed to encourage others to emulate this important cause.
He used the occasion to urge Ghanaians to patronise EHPC products for their general well-being, “Aside, improving your well-being for using EHPC products, you would also help the company to donate more to support the Heal Komfo Anokye Project,” he added.
Apart from the cash donation, the company also donated some of its products such as Pavi Herbal Mixture, Plasmox Herbal Mixture and capsules to the hospital.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Agyemang was highly impressed with the marvelous work done at KATH. He also commended Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Heal Komfo Anokye Project Committee, CEO of KATH, Prof. Addai-Mensah, management of the hospital and donors.
Mr. Kwadwo Sarbeng, Medical Director of KATH, and Ms. Afua Sam, Director of Nursing at KATH, among other management staff members, received the donation on behalf of the CEO and the Heal Komfo Anokye Project Committee.
Mr. Sarbeng commended EHPC for its kind gesture, disclosing the donations timely impact. He used the occasion to appeal to all Ghanaians to help ensure complete renovation of the hospital.
