Another battle is brewing as reigning Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year EL is up against Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Edem and Bisa Kdei for yet another crucial award.
On Sunday, organizers of the City People Entertainment Awards (CPEA) released nominations for the 7th edition of the awards ceremony, and EL, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Edem and Bisa Kdei have all made it into Ghana Musician of the Year Award category.
The nomination comes a few months after EL beat VVIP, Sarkodie, Bisa Kdei, Stonebwoy and SP Kofi Sarpong to emerge Ghana’s Artiste of Year.
If EL wins the City People Award, it will be his second major honour in recent times.
The 2016 CPEA will be held on July 24, 2016 at Yard 158, Oregun, 34 Kudirat Abiola Way, Ikeja Lagos, Nigeria.
The award aims at recognizing hard work in Africa’s entertainment industry and beyond.
Other top Ghanaian stars who have been nominated include Yvonne Nelson, Yvonne Okoro, Jackie Appiah and Joselyn Dumas.
The rest-Kafui Danku, Chris Attoh, Majid Michel, Prince David Osei, Zynnell Zuh, Juliet Ibrahim, Ella Mensah- have all been promoting Ghana’s movie industry.
