ENGAGE NOW Africa (ENA) recently partnered with the Salvation Army International to address the pressing issue of human trafficking.
The programme brought together experts from select African countries and the diaspora, including United Nations representatives, to share knowledge and best practices in combating this complex problem.
Director of Engage Now Africa, Afasi Komla, delivered a keynote presentation on reintegration and return, emphasizing the importance of empowerment in successful reintegration.
He highlighted ENA’s best practices, including sustainable livelihood support, medical care, and therapy sessions.
Mr. Afasi also discussed the challenges survivors face after reintegration, such as psychological trauma and limited economic opportunities.
The programme featured interactive breakout sessions, where participants worked together on real-life scenarios, explored best practices, and engaged in role-play. These sessions provided valuable insights and learning experiences for all involved.
Mr. Afasi expressed ENA’s commitment to future collaborations and called for strengthened partnerships to prevent and combat human trafficking. The program underscored the need for collective action to address this critical issue and support survivors in their journey towards healing and recovery.
