Tourism around the world focuses on finding grandeur and beauty for visitors to make their stay enjoyable one, and Ghana is no exception.

The West African country offers some of the best attractions which are not only limited to brilliant beaches, awe-inspiring mountains, epic road trips, enormous national parks, monuments, beautiful waterfalls, sceneries and night life but also fascinating industrial tourism.

This is the type of tourism which involves visits to operational companies and industrial heritage; it offers visitors an experience with regard to products, production processes, applications and historical backgrounds.

To experience Ghana’s industrial hub, all a visitor needs to do is seek the support of a tour operator to assist in that regard.

This is part of an initiative by the office of the Ministry of Tourism Arts & Culture to attract tourists to the best destinations in Ghana.

Kasapreko Company Limited 

Kasapreko Company Limited (KCL) is one of the leading and successful alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverage producers in Ghana. The company, which was first set up in the garage of the owner and businessman, Dr Kwabena Adjei, in 1989 at Nungua has now grown into a multinational company with state-of-the-art automated factory located off the Spintex road in Accra. KCL currently employs a total of 573 regular and contract workers. It is currently undertaking an expansion project which will increase its production capacity by almost three times to meet the growing market demand from other African countries and beyond. The company’s flagship brand is the Alomo Bitters with other quality brands like Opeimu Bitters, Cocoa Liqueur, Tonic Wine, Lime, Cardinal Strawberry, Dry Gin, Kasapreko Brandy and K20 Gin & Whisky. Accra Brewery Limited

Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) is also a company that is engaged in the beverage industry. Its main activity is the manufacturing and distribution of beer, sparkling soft drinks and non-alcoholic malt beverages. The company’s portfolio of product includes Stone Strong Lager, Castle Milk Stout, Club Beer, Castle Beer, Club Shandy, Club Dark, Club Mini, Escape and Vitalmalt, among others. ABL history began in 1931 when Overseas Breweries Limited, a Swiss-registered company built the brewery in Adabraka, in an area later designated as the South Industrial Area of Accra. In October 2016, ABL became a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev (ABInBev) after it acquired controlling shares of ABL’s former parent company, SABMiller Plc.

Nestlé Ghana Limited 

Nestlé Ghana Limited started business in Ghana in 1957 under the trading name of Nestlé Products (Gh) Limited with the importation of Nestlé products such as milk and chocolates. In 1968, it was incorporated as Food Specialties (Gh) Limited to manufacture and market locally well-known Nestlé brands. The company became Nestlé Ghana Limited in 1987. In 1971, the production of the IDEAL Milk and MILO started at the Tema Factory. The factory has since been further developed and now also produces Carnation Milks, Chocolim, Chocomilo Cerevita, Cerelac and Nescafe 3 in 1. These products are not only produced for Ghana but also exported across West Africa. In 2003, Nestlé Ghana Limited invested in a new warehouse, the Central Distribution Centre, located next to the factory in Tema. The company also runs sales offices with warehouses in Kumasi, Takoradi, Koforidua and Tamale. The business activity of Nestlé Ghana Limited is a direct contribution to the Ghanaian economy. For all these and other endeavours, Nestlé Ghana Limited has been recognised by government and other bodies as a responsible citizen.

Daily Guide (Western Publications) 

DAILY GUIDE is a private-owned daily newspaper owned by Western Publications Group, owners of DGN Network (TV) and other media networks.

Daily Graphic is a Ghanaian state-owned daily newspaper published in Accra, Ghana. The paper was established along with the Sunday Mirror in 1950 by Cecil King of the London Daily Mirror Group. The paper has seen a large number of editors replaced over the course of its history, particularly post-independence, after a string of successive military coups that resulted in the sacking editors who opposed the government policies. The paper, owned by the Graphic Communication Group Limited, also prints two weekly entertainment newspapers, namely The Mirror and Graphic Showbiz among others. GTP 

GTP is one of West Africa’s leading print and textile brands.

There are two companies behind the GTP brand – Tex Styles Ghana Limited (TSG) that prints GTP products and Premium African Textiles Company Limited (PAT) which creates the designs, distributes, sells and markets the GTP brand. Both companies belong to the global textile giant, VLISCO BV, headquartered in Helmond, The Netherlands. Both companies are located at the Heavy Industrial Area, Block No 22, Plot No 7, Tema, C4, Ghana.

GTP has three sister brands – WOODIN which is also designed, produced and sold by TSG and PAT, VLISCO which is imported from the parent company in The Netherlands and UNIWAX which is produced in Ivory Coast by another subsidiary of Vlisco BV.

Printex Ghana Limited 

Printex Limited is a privately-owned textile manufacturing company headquartered in Accra, the capital of Ghana with over 500 employees. The company was established in 1958 as Millet Textile Corporation (MTC), producing mainly terry towels.

In 1980, the company began operating as Spintex Limited, on a 25+ acre plot on the Spintex Road in a massive expansion programme. Spinning, kente clothing weaving and finishing departments were added to increase production capacity for new textile products, including uniforms, shirting materials, dress fabrics and furnishings. By 1997 when it assumed its current name, the company had entered into the African textiles market producing woven or printed cotton or polyester viscose blends. Printex ventured into African print market with a trademark black and white print of intricate designs. Today, the company produces all colours screen prints and African print fabric inspired by a team of textile creatives.
