Political commentator Fadi Dabbousi has bashed former President John Mahama, describing him as the most corrupt President ever in the history of Ghana.

The criticism is contained in his book entitled,‘59 Dark Hours, A #FreeSpeech Campaign’ which was launched last Tuesday at the British Council in Accra.

Fadi narrated his ordeal when he was arrested and detained by operatives of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) in September 2016 which he claimed was masterminded by the NDC.

’59 Dark Hours, A #FreeSpeech Campaign,’ is dedicated to all the freedom fighters around the world who have sought to achieve their goals, peacefully with the tip of their pens,”he said.

Fadi was arrested in September 2016 by the BNI at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) upon his return from a trip due to the publication of ’59 Years to Nowhere,’ but certainly ’59 Dark Hours’ will not send him to the cells since the man at the helm of affairs, President Akufo-Addo, is a lover of free speech.

National Security operatives reportedly ransacked the residence of Mr. Dabboussi at the time of his arrest and took away all copies of the ’59 Years to Nowhere’ which the then Mahama-led NDC administration found very offensive at the time.

A number of sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), as well as human rights activists, condemned the arrest on social media.

On his arrest, Fadi had this to say at the back page of his new book: “The footsteps towards the cage grew heavier. I wanted to scream but felt gagged; I wanted to run, but shuffled my feet heavily; I wanted to break the chains that arrested my spirit, but could only maneuver my way into the cell as a goaded sheep to its pen.  Click, clack and the locks shut me in. ”

He continued “it was heartwarming to know that I survived yet another day in the grips of invidious criminals, who were hell bent on making me pay heavy price for dwindling their electoral fortunes. Their arbitrary arrest of people who opposed the regime of the NDC was rather shambolic, miscalculated and misguided.”
