Fancy Gadam
Northern-based artiste Fancy Gadam received a rousing welcome when he returned home to Tamale with the laurels he won at the 2018 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
Thousands of supporters flooded the streets to catch a glimpse of Gadam when he arrived.
Fancy Gadam, born Ahmed Mujahid Bello, picked two awards at the 2018 VGMAs last Saturday night.
He won the hiplife song of the year and song of the year with his song ‘Total Cheat’, which features rapper Sarkodie.
The song of the year win is currently receiving a lot of backlash, as some Ghanaians think Swedru-based artiste Patapaa should have won.
However, Charterhouse has explained that the category is purely vote-based and Fancy won because he had more votes.
His fan-base in Tamale came out in their numbers to welcome him, just as they did in 2017 when he won the best new artiste award last year.

The streets of Tamale were again chocked with fans, several motor riders and drummers to welcome their ‘son’ after his success at the same awards.
Fancy shot to nationwide prominence for filling up the Tamale Stadium on a number of occasions. He has also headlined huge concerts in Accra.
He has, over time, proven himself as one of Ghana’s artistes who can stand the test of time.
