Female Kidnapper Busted In K’si

The three suspected kidnappers

THREE SUSPECTED kidnappers, including a 22-year-old female, who has been identified as Christiana Nyarko, have been arrested at Tanoso in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti Region.

The other suspects are Justice Arhin, 24, and Samuel Jackitey, 23. All three suspects are currently in custody of the Abuakwa District Police.

The trio, the police alleged, kidnapped a 25-year-old woman, Winefred Asieduwaa, in early February 2026, and kept her hostage at a secret location near Supreme Saviour Junction at Tanoso for one-week.

The suspects then called Asieduwaa’s mother, one Badu, who is at Afram Plains, on phone, informed her that they had kidnapped her child and demanded a ransom before they would release her.

Abuakwa District Police report, confirming the story, said the case was reported to the police on February 9, 2026, so the police tracked the location of the suspects and eventually apprehended them.

“On 09/02/2026, at about 1950 hours, Hanson Gerrad Mensah, of Anloga–Oforikrom, Kumasi, reported at Tanoso Station that he received a telephone call from his aunt, one Badu, of Afram Plains.

“She alleged that her daughter, one Winefred Asieduwaa, aged 25 years, who left home for Kumasi about a week earlier, had been kidnapped by unknown persons at Tanoso, near Supreme Saviour Junction, and that the perpetrators were demanding ransom from the family.

“The suspects were tracked to the location, and the victim was rescued. Three suspects, namely Justice Arhin (24 years), Samuel Jackitey (23 years), and Christiana Nyarko (22 years) were arrested and detained for investigations,” the police report said.

According to the police, after the arrest of the three suspects, Asieduwaa was finally released to the complainant to report to the police at a later date, to assist in further investigations.
