A building near Nana’s Palace Restaurants and Bar in Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region was on Sunday night engulfed by fire; destroying three shops and goods.
According to people affected by the incident, goods worth thousands of Ghana cedis have been lost to the fire.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were at the scene to bring the fire under control, thereby preventing it from spreading to more shops.
The fire as gathered was caused by electrical faults.
Due to the intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire was doused to prevent further spread.
