Fuse ODG
Afrobeat star Fuse ODG has promised Ghanaian music fans an awesome experience at his upcoming inaugural festival in Ghana dubbed ‘TINA Festival’.
The festival, which was launched in Accra on Friday at the BBnZ offices, will take place on January 4 at the Round Pavilion of the Trade Fair Centre in Accra.
It is Fuse’s first ever event in Ghana after years in music, and it promises to be exciting.
The festival will be a three-day event populated with market fairs and other activities before a concert on January 4 evening.
Among artistes billed to perform at the event are Sarkodie, Stefflon Don, Joey B, Lethal Bizzle and many more top artistes.
The festival is aimed at projecting Africa and Ghana as the origin of Afrobeat music which has taken over the world.
Speaking at the launch, Fuse ODG said he and his friends have performed at shows out there, and they believe it is now time to come home and organise their own shows to support Africa.
“The media likes to portray Africa in a negative way and we have to stand up and tell our own story. And this is what TINA – This Is New Africa – is all about. Creating a platform where we can tell our own story.
“Something like TINA Festival is a platform to get people to come back home and experience our culture; to experience Ghana…yes we have issues in the country like any other country in the world,” he said.
Fuse is UK-based Ghanaian Afrobeat musician who has put Ghana on major world platforms. His genre of music is a new African sound that has captured the attention of the world in recent years. The sound has gained millions of followers from every corner of the globe and Africa needs to celebrate that.
