GCNet Named Best ICT Company

The Ghana Community Network Services Ltd (GCNet) emerged the best ICT Company at the 16th edition of the Ghana Club (GC) 100 Awards organized by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) in Accra recently.

The company also improved its rankings from the 24th position it occupied last year to the 20th position in this year’s GC100 top companies ranking.

Last year’s event was on the theme: ‘Industrialization: A tool for job Creation and Accelerated Economic Development.’

GCNet was recognised in the ICT sector because of its continued investments in I.T infrastructure, as well as ensuring integrity and excellence in its operations.

The award was also anchored on the Tier III Data Centre, which operates on international models that guarantees 99.982% availability for Tier III facilities.

Carl Sackey, Product Development Manager, who received GCNet’s Award, gave the assurance that GCNet remains committed to the provision of state-of-the-art e-solutions in Africa with tailored service offerings to ease the burden of doing business add value to the trade chain and maximize revenue collection.

“We will build on our track record of excellence and innovation while working with government and the people of Ghana to contribute to national development for the benefit of all Ghanaians,” Mr Sackey reiterated.

GCNet, he said, will continue to leverage on the many international certification regimes, including ISO9000, for quality management, ensuring security standards and compliance at the over 97 Customs sites and more than 50 tax offices of the Ghana Revenue Authority across the country.

Speaking on behalf of the President, the Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, stressed that the top 100 companies in the country have a responsibility to help government to develop the economy by generating employment to facilitate Ghana’s transition  from a low middle income country to middle income and then to a developed country.

“Once you are in the top 100, you cannot do business as usual. Each of you must try and bring improvement in your respective business operations,” he added.

In all, 100 companies won awards for their respective rankings.

This year’s event was also used to present Special Awards to outstanding business performers in selected categories, including Corporate Social Responsibility and the Highest Tax Paying Company.
