Some of the winners of last year’s edition displaying their awards
The Event Vendors Association of Ghana (EVAG), organisers of the annual Event Industry Conference (GEIC) awards, is calling for entries for this year’s edition of the awards which is now in its fifth year.
The GEIC awards is unarguably one of the most celebrated and sought-after awards ceremonies which seek to honour crème de la crème of industry stakeholders in the event space who under the year of review have exhibited mastery and exceptional service, contributing to the development of EVAG and the Ghana Tourism Industry.
According to EVAG President Kate Hassen, one of the surest ways of appreciating event vendors in the country is to reward them for their works.
These vendors through the unstable economic situation in the country with the impact of pre and post-COVID-19 have stood tall in the industry to render services to clients from all walks of life.
“The event industry is still recovering from the impact of COVID-19 in the country. For us as the leadership of EVAG, what we can do is congratulate them using the awards with the aim of giving them a sense of hope that at the end of the tunnel, there is light,” she said.
Mrs. Hassen also revealed that for this year’s nomination, which ends on August 4, has taken a new twist giving an opportunity for the public to nominate any event vendor who performs exceptionally well in the event space. This is considering the terms and conditions of the nomination categories, adding “the event vendors also have a slot of self-nominations of various categories”.
Some of the nominations for this year’s awards include Best Event Blogger, Best Event DJ, Best Event Coordinator, Best Local Drink Vendor, Best Event Stylist, Best Event Makeup Artist, and Best Event Outfit Designer.
