Organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards-USA (GMA-USA) have announced that the 2021 edition will take place on August 21 at the Atlantic City, New Jersey, in the United States of America (USA).
GMA-USA is designed to celebrate and honour Ghanaian entertainers in and outside the country, and aims to extend the reach of the Ghanaian music industry at home and abroad.
The awards ceremony, which is being organised in partnership with Ghana’s Embassy in the USA, will see some musical works from Ghana and the USA vying for honours in various categories. It will kick off with a red carpet event before the main event.
The organisers have lined up a number of Ghanaian celebrated artistes to thrill fans at the awards night.
The much hyped event is expected to attract a large number of personalities from the creative industry in Ghana and USA, as well as a number of local and international artistes.
Top awards billed for grabs include Highlife Song of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, Highlife Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Artiste of the Year, Best Male Vocalist of the Year and Best Female Vocalist of the Year, among others.
Diana Antwi Hamilton, Stonebwoy, King Promise, KiDi, Kuami Eugene, Sarkodie, Akwaboah, Phrimpong, Medikal and other artistes are among the list of nominees for the event.
