Mr. James Kwofie
Managing Director of Ghana Post Company Limited, James Kwofie, has been appointed chairman of West African Postal Conference (WAPCO).
Mr. Kwofie, since his appointment as the Managing Director of Ghana Post, has ensured sustainability by focusing on effective management of legacy debt, staff welfare and customer care service with effective communications.
With his broad managerial experience, he wants to use e-commerce to integrate the operations of all WAPCO countries as well as organisations that belong to the association.
He also worked for four major companies-Sprint Telecommunications (USA), British American Tobacco (West Africa Central) and Guinness Breweries with over 18 years’ experience.
He also served as intern at the United Nations in Washington DC and is a product of the University of Kansas, as well as Bakers University.
In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, Mr Kwofie noted that he would focus on reforms and revenue mobilization by harmonizing the roles and regulations.
“There are so many things I want to do as part of my commitment to making WAPCO a vibrant association. I may, as part of my policy to develop the association, introduce a “West African Postal Day.”
The West African Postal Conference, which comprises 15 ECOWAS member states, was established in 2001.
WAPCO aims to build a single West African Postal area with harmonized policy and strategies and also ensure, maintain and enhance cooperation among members for rationalization and improvement of postal services.
