Old Students of the 1994/1996 year group of the Ghana Secondary School (GHANASS) in Koforidua have donated two modern electronic keyboards with their accessories valued at GH¢6,000 to the music department of the school.

Making the donation on behalf of the group, the president of the group Emmanuel Adjei said the group saw the need to present the musical instruments to help students who have specialization in music to learn music well since music is becoming very lucrative.

He said apart from that the group has also adopted the school cadet and is ready to provide uniforms and boots worth GH¢25,000 to help make the school one of the best in the country.

He added that old students have resolved to build a new dormitory for the girls since the only girls’ dormitory has become overcrowded and that on October 13, 2018, sod will be cut for the construction to begin.

He however appealed to the government to come to the aid of the school by constructing a 14-unit classroom block for the school to ease the excessive pressure on the existing ones since the population of the school has doubled over the years.

He also appealed to government to get the school a new sick bay in order to prevent students from going home anytime they fall sick.

The headmaster of the school Rev. Abraham Osei Donkor, who received the musical items, thanked the group for their kind gesture and asked other year groups to emulate the shining example of the 1994/1996 year group.
