Gideon Aryeequaye
Former broadcaster Gideon Aryeequaye has been appointed as the Acting Executive Secretary of Ghana’s Creative Arts Agency (CAA).
He takes over from Gyankroma Akufo-Addo, who has led the agency since its inception in 2020.
His appointment comes as the government prepares for the Black Star Experience agenda, aimed at promoting Ghana’s culture, arts, and tourism sectors.
Gideon Aryeequaye is widely known for his work as a journalist and television newscaster at TV3, where he also hosted Ghana Most Beautiful. He previously served as Head of News at e-TV Ghana and later as CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) from 2014 to 2017.
A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he once contested the party’s primaries for the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom constituency in 2012 but was unsuccessful.
The Creative Arts Agency, operating under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, oversees the development of Ghana’s creative arts industry. As Acting Executive Secretary, Gideon Aryeequaye will handle the agency’s administration, report to the board, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
