Gifty Osei Gets New Position At MUSIGA

Gospel songstress Gifty Osei has been elected the new treasurer of the Greater Accra regional branch of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

She joins five other musicians who were elected at the regional polls on Wednesday at the union’s head office in Accra.

The other newly-elected executives are Ras Caleb Appiah Levi, Chairman; Elizabeth Kakra Tagoe, Vice Chairperson; Bright Appiah Quaye, aka Joe Wizzy, Organiser; Alex Odoi, Welfare Officer and Mildred Mac-Hansen, aka Sheege Styla, as Secretary.

Swearing in the newly elected executives, the 1st Vice President of MUSIGA, Bessa Simons, called on the new executives to provide effective leadership for the branch, while ensuring that the union addresses the welfare needs of the members.

The 2nd Vice President, Rev Dr Thomas Yawson, advised the new executives to be servant-leaders in all they do to make the region an example worthy of emulation by other regions.

On his part, the outgoing Chairman, Nana Kwaku Duah, aka Tic Tac, told the members to be united and maintain the right protocols in all their dealings.

The new Chairman, Ras Caleb Appiah Levi, assured the members of a listening leadership which would work hand-in-hand with them to improve their welfare as musicians and ensure that the membership in the region grows.

So far, MUSIGA has held elections in all the regions apart from the Ashanti Region where it was called off and has been rescheduled.
