The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation has handed over a Technical and vocational school block to the residents of Nyong in the Kariga District of the Northern region.
The facility is made up of a six-unit classroom block and it is expected to serve the Nyong community and the district at large.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, the Executive Director of GNPC, Dr. Dominic Eduah said the Foundation is a development partner to all the regions and that the northern region can not be left out.
According to him, the project is aimed at helping the youth in the Nyong community and its environs access to vocational education.
“This project is so dear to my heart because vocational skills is the backbone of the country and I know it will go a long way to help the people of Kariga.”
Dr. Eduah disclosed that the GNPC Foundatuon has established a number of developmental projects in the northern region.
He urged beneficiary communities to take good care GNPC projects for the betterment of the people in the various communities.
The Karaga District Chief Executive, Idrisu Mohammed Saani who received the project on behalf of the community thanked GNPC for the initiative.
He also promise that the facility will be used for the purpose for which it was built as well as maintain it.
