Events Vendors’ Association of Ghana (EVAG) execuitves
President of the Events Vendors’ Association of Ghana (EVAG), Kate Hassan, has called on government to place special interest in the fast-growing creative industry of Ghana.
Speaking at the official launch of EVAG on Tuesday, August 7 at the Red Carpet Events Centre in East Legon, Mrs Hassan asked government to focus on the creative industry since it has the potential of creating jobs, which would, in turn, benefit the country’s economy.
“I will like to call on the state to continue to pay close attention to harnessing the full power of the creative industries in Ghana. Currently, the creative industries appear to be on auto-pilot. However, I strongly believe that with the right amount of resources being injected into the creative industries, the jobs that will be created and the resultant economic benefits would be huge,” she said.
On quality of service and products delivery, Mrs Hassan disclosed that the association would place premium on mentorship and training for its members by working in collaboration with some institutions.
“Technology is fast changing the face of business globally and in this regard, EVAG will work with some training institutions like GIMPA, NAFTI and HOTCASS and other professional institutes to provide tailor-made training for our members and associate members,” she stated.
“We will also facilitate mentorship programmes for our associate members to enable them acquire the required experience to provide delightful services to our clients,” Mrs Hassan added.
She explained that EVAG is an organisation that aims at organising event vendors in Ghana to ensure the delivery of delightful services to clients to make events memorable.
Mrs Hassan added that membership is open to all, including event planners, decorators, coordinators, rental service providers, caterers, bakers, mixologists, MCs, DJs and florists.
Others include graphic designers, photographers, videographers, performers, make-up artists and hair stylists.
