The DEPUTY Minister of Transport, Titus-Glover, says Government would not allow the Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority (GPHA) to collapse.
According to him, the government would do everything possible to save the company.
Workers of the GPHA on Tuesday April 23, 2019 kicked against some clauses in the Tema Port expansion concession agreement between the Meridian Port Service (MPS) and the government of Ghana.
Titus- Glover who chaired a committee formed by the Economic Management Team (EMT) to investigate the agreement, has assured Ghanaians, especially workers of GPHA that “we are not sleeping on this matter, it is receiving the urgent attention from government and we will do everything possible to ensure that we are able to deal with this problem.”
He was speaking at a day’s symposium organised by the Tema District Council of Labour (TDCL).
He said “it is true that the President through the EMT commissioned us to look at the MPS GPHA relationship, we have done our report, we have submitted it and it is under study.”
For his part, Joshua Ansah, Deputy Secretary General of Trades Union Congress (TUC), TUC was making efforts to resolve the impasse.
