GSE, Others Donate To Covid-19 Fund

Madam Sophia Akuffo

The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) yesterday joined the list of donors to the Covid-19 Trust Fund.

The fund was set up by President Akufo-Addo following the outbreak of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), which has claimed thousands of lives the world over, to help receive and manage donations from organisations and individuals in fighting against the pandemic.

So far, many corporate bodies, groups and individuals have donated handsomely to the fund.

At a ceremony at the Jubilee House yesterday, the GSE added its name to the list of donors with an amount of GH¢100,000 given by the Head of Business Development and Special Projects, Diana Okine, on behalf of the stock market controllers.

Besides, there was the National Director of Compassion International Ghana, Gifty Dansoah Appiah, who gave an amount of GH¢100,000 as their part of the contribution to make the fight against the disease successful.

They were followed by the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) whose Board Chairman, Dr. Joseph Assibu, donated an amount of GH¢100,000 to the fund, with OCP Ghana Limited passing through with a donation of GH¢280,000 from its Country Manager, Samuel Oduro Asare, and a similar donation of an amount of GH¢20,000 from the St. Louis Old Students Association (SLOPSA) through its Chairperson, Dr. Gloria Achempim Ansong.
