Hassan Ayariga Accuses NDC Of Stealing 24-Hour Economy Policy

The All People’s Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Hassan Ayariga, has unleashed a scathing attack on the National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing them of stealing his party’s flagship policy– the 24-hour economy.

The allegation comes on the heels of Hassan Ayariga’s manifesto launch, dubbed “The Nation’s Manifesto,” held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, on September 22, 2024.

Historical Context

Hassan Ayariga’s Vice Presidential candidate, Samuel Worlanyo Mensah, revealed that the APC first introduced the 24-hour economy policy in 2016.

“The 24-Hour Economy was introduced by Hassan Ayariga in 2016 and 2024. It is not for the NDC. It is a stolen manifesto policy,” Mensah emphasized.

NDC’s Adoption and APC’s Outrage

The NDC’s incorporation of the 24-hour economy policy into its agenda has sparked outrage within the APC.

Hassan Ayariga’s camp views this as a blatant appropriation of their intellectual property, undermining their unique selling proposition.

Ayariga’s manifesto, “Transforming Ghana and Restoring Hope,” outlines a comprehensive roadmap for Ghana’s development.

The Key policy initiatives include the immediate cancellation of the government’s contentious “Gold for Oil” initiative, labelled a “scam” by the APC, the implementation of the 24-hour economy to stimulate economic growth and job creation, and also the revitalization of key sectors, including agriculture, education, and healthcare.

This year’s Presidential election, slated for December 7, 2024, promises to be intensely competitive.

Hassan Ayariga’s APC will face stiff competition from John Dramani Mahama’s NDC and Vice President Bawumia’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) and 10 other candidates.
