Almost all the best gospel musicians in Ghana will this Sunday, May 28 converge at the National Theatre in Accra for a mega performance dubbed ‘SP Kofi Sarpong Live in Concert’.

Superintendent Kofi Sarpong will himself headline the one day music festival which will see amazing performances from Nacee, Ceccy Twum, Koda, Gifty Osei, Joyce Blessing, Francis Amoo, Abena Ruthy, Kingskid and a surprise gospel artiste from the United Kingdom.

“The concert has two aims. One is to announce that my music career and music ministry is transcending into a new level of higher professionalism, targeting new markets and enhancing the messages in the songs. The second aim is to raise funds to support the under-privileged and have-nots in our society. Specifically, we intend to raise funds to support some 5,000 under-privileged persons across the country, register for the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

“Of course the concert would also promote and protect the works of Ghanaian gospel music artistes and also serve as a tie for us to praise our God while entertaining ourselves,” Kofi Sarpong explained at the media launch of the concert.

Kofi Sarpong is one of the biggest artistes in Ghana. This is the first time he is putting up his own concert to bring together his fans and lovers of the gospel who seek to worship God through music.

He released his first album titled ‘Sacrifice’ in 2012 and this brought him into the limelight. He also has songs like ‘African Borborbor’, ‘Adom Bi’, ‘Ayeyi Ndwom’, ‘Agyenkwa’ and ‘Aseda’ which won the gospel song of the year at the 2012 VGMA.

He has won several awards in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Ghana Music Awards UK and other internationally recognised award schemes.
