THE INSTITUTE of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana is expected to begin a professional training programme for public relations officers (P.R.Os) working at various government’s ministries, departments and agencies.
IPR Ghana is to start with about 42 P.R.O.s under the Information Services Department of the Ministry of Information.
This came to light when executives of IPR Ghana led by their president, Elaine Sam paid a courtesy call on Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah at his office on Tuesday, March 19, in Accra.
The visit was to enable them formally engage the Minister since his appointment and to discuss how the Institute and government could work in partnership to improve upon the professionalism of public sector public relations officer.
Mr. Oppong Nkrumah noted that the training programme was necessary to ensure that government’s P.R.Os exceled on their job.
On her part, Madam Sam indicated that the Institute would design programmes that will help the public relations officers.
