Jerry Ahmed Shaib

The 2016 parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ablekuma South Constituency, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has been appointed the substantive Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Coastal Development Authority.

This was contained in a letter signed by President Akufo-Addo in which he quoted  Section 13 (1) of the Coastal Development Act, 2016 (961) to support his decision pending the advice of the governing Board of the Authority, given in consultation of the Public Services Commission.

His appointment follows the resignation of Samuel Atta-Mensah famously known as Samens.

Until his elevation as the substantive CEO, Jerry was the deputy CEO to Samens.

He holds a Bachelors of Law Degree from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Master of Business Administration, Marketing Option; Master of Philosophy in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts, Social Sciences from the University of Cape Coast.

Jerry Shaib contested the Ablekuma South parliamentary elections on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party in 2016 but lost.

He is considered the party’s best bet for the constituency, considering the significant votes he garnered in spite of different schemes employed by some party faithful against him.

The President has also appointed Kingsley Kofi Karikari-Bondzie as deputy CEO for the Coastal Development Authority.

He was the Central Regional Second Vice Chairman of the ruling party and considered a man of the people due to his open nature.
