The deceased JHS teacher
A Junior High School (JHS) teacher died on the spot when he was hit by a sprinter bus while riding his motorbike to school on the Agona Nkwanta-Takoradi Highway in the Western Region.
The deceased, Emmanuel Ntonah, 30, was reporting to school on the first day of reopening on Tuesday when the unfortunate incident occurred.
According to sources, the deceased had left his village at Komfoeku, in the Shama District where he was, together with his wife to spend the vacation.
His mortal remains have since been deposited at a hospital’s morgue.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Sprinter bus is in the grips of the police to assist in the investigation to unravel the circumstances leading to the accident.
Speaking to journalists, the wife of the deceased, Eunice Ntonah, said she was yet to be briefed about how the whole incident occurred.
In a related development, an elderly woman, identified as Madam Gorothia Sam, believed to be in her late 70s, was crushed to death at Effia by a motorbike.
The old woman was said to have been crossing the road near her home to a nearby Catholic Church for her morning Mass, when the high speeding motorcycle crushed her, killing her on the spot.
The accident is said to have occurred on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, between 5:30am and 6am on the Effia Road, close to a  cement factory in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality in the Western Region.
DAILY GUIDE gathered that the case had since been reported at the Central Police Station in Takoradi. The motor rider is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
