The Late Kofi B

The remains of late high life musician, Kofi B, born Eric Boakye Yiadom, was over the weekend laid to rest in the Ashanti Region.

Kofi B, best known for his silky voice died on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Abease Dominase in the Central Region of Ghana where he went to perform at a birthday party of a chief in the area.

He reportedly suffered a heart attack and was pronounced dead when taken to the Abease Dominase Hospital.

His remains was laid in state at the Agogo Presbyterian Park in the Ashanti Region for a final funeral rite on Saturday and was later buried at Asante Akyem Agogo cemetery.

On Sunday, the family held a thanksgiving service at the Triumphant Christian Chapel at the Agogo Lorry Station.

The Mmobrowa singer before his untimely death was one of Ghana’s amazing contemporary highlife musician who stayed true to the rudiments of the genre.

He came into the limelight with his solemn and thought provoking hit song, Mmobrowa.

He has always wanted to be a lawyer and felt he was in music by chance even though his family has a liking for music.

Kofi B was inspired by Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi, Ofori Amponsah and the late Opampuo.

Some of his popular songs included Twa me keke, Mmobrowa, Aserewa, Koforidua Flowers, Sika dwa, Belinda and Akua Ataa. He has also won awards with his music. Condolences to the family.
