Amos Frimpong, Kotoko’s captain
It has emerged from the Garden City of Kumasi that Asante Kotoko are leaving no stone unturned in their day two of the CAF Confederation Cup tie against ZESCO United in Kumasi next week.
As a result, the Porcupine Warriors have declared operation ZESCO must fall in a campaign geared towards clawing all three points at Baba Yara.
Last Sunday, Kotoko unfortunately, began the campaign on a wrong footing; losing narrowly, 0-1 to Sudan’s Al-Hilal in Ombudsman in their Group C fixture.
“Operation Zesco United must fall in Kumasi is a good initiative and Kotoko team will make it a reality because this African campaign is for all Ghanaians,” Yaw Amo Sarpong, Kotoko Policy Analyst said on Ash FM
And explaining what accounted for the Sudan
debacle, he indicated that, “The team was
emotionally depressed before the game because we were delayed one-hour at the
hotel before the game and I think that affected the players,”
“We want everyone especially our supporters
to forget about this defeat and prepare towards our home game against Zesco
United because it’s a must win game.
“We must have a back-up plan whenever we
travel for games and I hope that will help the team.”
Kotoko, who have since returned to their Kumasi base will host their Zambian counterparts exactly a week today in Kumasi.
