On Wednesday, 25 November, 2020, the Assistant Secretary and Counsel to the President, Kow Essuman, donated various campaign materials to the NPP campaign team of the Mfantseman Constituency.
The items, including branded t-shirts, bales of clothes, LED bulbs, bags of sugar and some cash, were donated to the constituency executives and campaign team led by the Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Gibrine Adams.
Mr. Essuman informed the party executives and the constituency campaign team, who received him warmly, that he was making the donation to support the campaign and their hard work at the grassroots level.
“Mfantseman Constituency is an important constituency to the NPP. The tradition, out of which the NPP was formed, was birthed in Saltpond and therefore, there is no way the constituency should be allowed to go to the NDC,” Mr. Essuman said.
Mr. Essuman, who hails from Saltpond, encouraged the executives and campaign team to work hard since the campaign is in its last stretch.
“You have done very well campaigning since July 2020 until now. However, we are in the last stretch and it is important that we finish hard. That is why these materials have been brought to help you finish the race hard. I have no doubt in my mind that you will ensure that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is retained as President and Mrs. Ophelia Mensah Hayford is returned as Member of Parliament for the constituency, but I want to encourage you to ensure that they are voted for massively, to send a clear and strong message to the NDC that Mfantseman belongs to the NPP. We have to do that to honour the memory of my friend and namesake, the late Ekow Kwansah Hayford,” Mr. Essuman said.
Alhaji Adams, on behalf of the constituency executives and campaign team, thanked Mr. Essuman for the materials and vowed to work very hard to ensure that President Nana Akufo-Addo and Mrs. Ophelia Mensah Hayford win overwhelmingly in Mfantseman. He continued, “Many people in the constituency have heard of your name and what you are doing at the Presidency. I will encourage you to continue to work hard and bring honour to the people of Saltpond. We pray that God will continue to bless you and make you an example for the youth of Mfantseman.”
Mr. Essuman is a lawyer by profession and is admitted to practice law in three different jurisdictions – England and Wales, New York (U.S.A) and Ghana. He is a member of the Constitutional and Legal Committee of the National Council of the Party, a member of the 2020 Campaign Communications Committee and the Director for New Media in the 2020 Campaign.
