K’si Mayor Fetes Journalists

Osei Assibey, the Kumasi Mayor, interacting with some of the journalists during the press soiree

The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Osei Assibey Antwi, has organized a soiree for journalists at Rattray Park in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital.

They were provided with food, meat and drinks during the festive season.

The Police Band provided melodious songs to entertain the practitioners who were selected from the electronic and print media.

The affable Osei Assibey took time to shake hands with the over 150 journalists at the venue.

Michael Ataogye, the KMA Coordinating Director and Godwin Okumah Nyame, the KMA Public Relations Officer (PRO), were also at the event to interact with the journalists.

Osei Assibey, in his remarks, commended the media for their support for the KMA during 2017 and urged them to continue to back the assembly in 2018.

He said the KMA has an open door policy to help transform Kumasi, urging residents of the city to support the KMA.

“The development of Kumasi is a collective responsibility and I expect everyone to come on board this year, according to him.

Kingsley Hope, the chairman of the Ashanti Regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), thanked the mayor for showing appreciation to the media for their support over the years.
