Kwesi Arthur Happy With BET Support

Kwesi Arthur at the BET awards

Hip-hop artiste Kwesi Arthur has sent words of appreciation to Ghanaians for the amazing support they have given him ahead of the 2018 Black Entertainment (BET) Awards in the USA.

Kwesi, who was nominated for Best New International Act category of the BET Awards, got a huge endorsement from Ghanaians who also voted for him to win.

But the ‘Grind Day’ rapper lost the award to South African artiste Sjava at the award ceremony which was held on Sunday.

“…Thank you Ghana for the support,” Kwesi said in an Instagram post on Monday and also congratulated the organisers of the award for recognising his efforts with a nomination.

His nomination came as great news to most Ghanaian music fans particularly because no Ghanaian musician made it to any of the categories, unlike the previous years.

Kwesi was nominated alongside Prince Waly (France), Mc Soffia (Brazil), Take A Mic (France), Niniola (Nigeria), Sik-K (South Korea), Nailah Blackman (Trinidad And Tobago), Not3s (UK), Iamddb (UK) and Sjava (South Africa).

The BET Awards were established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African-Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment over the past years.
