The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwesimintsim in the Western Region, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, has commissioned two fully furnished six-unit classroom blocks for his constituents.
The beneficiary schools included Anaji International School, and Whindo Kindergarten and Primary School.
The MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, also commissioned two ultramodern kindergarten blocks for Apremdo Catholic Kindergarten and Mpatado/Adientem kindergarten, all in the constituency.
The six-unit classroom blocks with offices store rooms, toilet and wash rooms are to aid in the transformation of education in the Constituency.
The projects, which are part of eight others under the education sector in the Constituency, also aimed at creating a conducive teaching and learning environment for both teachers and students.
The two 6-unit classroom blocks were funded by the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes (GALOP) project, while the kindergarten blocks were funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund)
Dr. Armah noted that he is committed to improving education in the Kwesimintsim Constituency.
He said he was poised to ensure that the youth are well educated and acquire the requisite skills to be able to fit into the society, adding, “This is the best legacy I can leave for the Constituency where I was born”.
He emphasised that beyond education, he has been doing skills training programmes, and that more than 2000 youth have been trained in different professions.
Madam Gloria Biney Gontor, Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Education Director thanked the government and the MP for the gesture.
In a related development the MP visited some schools in the constituency to welcome school children on their first day at school.
The MP accompanied by the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Chief Executive, Kojo Acquah visited the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, Freeman Methodist School, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School Annex and Apremdo Catholic School.
He distributed some items to the children including pencils, crayons, and books.
