Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum
The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has rallied and the staff and management his ministry behind President Akufo-Addo’s vision to transform the country’s education for the betterment of the citizens.
Speaking at his maiden staff durbar of the Education Ministry on Tuesday, Dr. Adutwum urged all staff to work together toward the set goal of the government.
According to him, it is his expectation that all and sundry will show more commitment and dedication toward getting the right result irrespective of one’s position and status.
The staff durbar was meant to introduce himself to the workers at the ministry as the substantive Minister of Education after his elevation to the position by President Akufo-Addo for his second term in office.
Dr. Adutwum was appointed Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Pre-Tertiary in the first term of President Akufo-Addo and got elevated after perfectly leading the implementation of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy.
The minister is also credited for mooting the possibility of the double track system to allow all Ghanaian students the opportunity to access secondary education as envisaged by the President.
Dr. Adutwum charged the staff and management at the ministry to strive to be part of the effort to get the best reforms and improvement in the education sector.
The Chief Director for the Ministry, Benjamin K. Gyasi, on behalf of the staff, congratulated Dr. Adutwum for his elevation and pledged their teeming support for his work.
He urged workers at the ministry to redouble their effort and give off their best to improve the education sector.
