Idris Buabeng with officials of the Methodist Church in the Western Region after the donation
FAITH-BASED health systems strengthening organisation, LifeNet International, has donated medical equipment to three Anglican health facilities in the Western Region.
The three beneficiary facilities are the Bishop Anglionby Clinic – Bodi; Anglican Medical Center – Boinzan and Episcopal Health Center – Nyankamam.
The items include Nebulizer Machine, Infrared Thermometer Gun, Four-Fold Screen, Seca Adult Weighing Scale, Handheld Fetal Doppler, Portable Ultrasound Sonographic Machine and Portable Ultrasound Sonographic Printers.
LifeNet International, Country Director, Idris Buabeng, presenting the items to the facilities, said faith-based health facilities provide patients with care at lower cost thus making them powerful vehicles for community-wide development.
Yet, he noted that faith-based health facilities are faced with several challenges in the line of work in terms of staff capacity building, lack of essential medical equipment and poor logistics management.
“We, at LifeNet, believe that these three challenges are the most critical to be addressed and we deliver continuous professional development training and mentorship to front-line healthcare workers, support facilities to finance critical medical equipment and improve the management systems and financial processes,” he said.
He was thus hopeful that through the partnership, many more lives would be saved in communities across Ghana.
