A Malian businessman domiciled in Ghana, Haled Ould Ibrahim, has stated that he feels “harassed” by the activities of a Lebanese called Hassan Abu Zein, who he claims has been filing false police reports about him and his family.
According to him, he has been arrested three times by three different security agencies – the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service and the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) – on trumped-up charges at the instance of Abu Zein, who he claims also made what he called false publication about him in many media networks.
Mr. Ibrahim told DAILY GUIDE after presenting a petition to the Police Headquarters that the Lebanese, who he said is married to a Ghanaian, caused him to be detained for seven days, adding that he had recently gone through one of the toughest periods of his life in the country.
He said he had petitioned the Police Administration to stop its officers from being used to intimidate and harass him and his family on “trumped-up charges.”
“In all my arrests, I was found not to be a criminal and discharged accordingly by the security agents. The police, BNI and Immigration Service found the reports to be false, and this man is behind it,” he claimed.
“Abu Zein, on April 16, 2020, sent seven men to my residence at Spintex to attack me. He also falsely accused my father of raping a lady he (the father) had shown interest in marrying her. He has been doing so many things, and I now feel as though I am being harassed,” Ibrahim said.
He stated that the harassment was no longer solely affecting him but also the health of his family.
Ibrahim claimed the man was once his father’s ‘boy’ and introduced him to his current business, but Mr. Zein has now decided to stab his father in the back.
