A WOMAN, said to be in her late 50s, has reportedly been stabbed multiple times to death in her room.
The deceased was allegedly killed by one Barfi, who is 22 years old at Sepe Buokrom in Kumasi, on Monday.
According to reports, the woman was in her room when Barfi stormed there ostensibly to rob her of her money.
Barfi was said to have stabbed the woman without any provocation, forcing the lady to shout aloud in pain.
The victim was said to have pulled a short pistol to help defend herself but her efforts were not enough.
According to reports, Barfi, after killing the woman, stole an undisclosed amount of money from her and fled from the scene.
Some women in the densely-populated community saw Barfi running away but they could not apprehend him.
However, Barfi was eventually nabbed from his hideout and he is currently in police custody assisting investigations.
The Assemblyman for the Area, Joseph Basoa, indicated that Barfi and the woman lived in the same community.
He said unconfirmed reports said there was a rift between Barfi and the woman before the stabbing incident took place.
