The police have begun investigations into circumstances that led to the murder of a 35-year-old man in a hotel at Caprice in Accra.
The yet-to-be identified deceased, believed to be a foreigner, reportedly checked into the hotel two days before the body was discovered.
He was said to have suffered multiple knife wounds on the neck, right rib and upper lips; the body has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue in Accra, for identification and autopsy.
Confirming the sad incident to DAILY GUIDE, Accra Regional police spokesperson DSP Efia Tenge, said the police received a complainant from a supervisor of the hotel, that on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, two young men checked into his hotel and on Friday, March 19, 2021, he went to check up on them in the room and found one of them dead but his colleague was nowhere to be found.
“The police together with the complainant proceeded to the said hotel and found the young man, yet-to-be identified lying in a supine position and in a partial state of decomposition,” DSP Tenge disclosed.
DSP Tenge said a closer examination of the body revealed multiple cuts believed to be knife wounds on the neck, right chest, right rib and upper lip, and when a search was conducted in the room, a bayonet was also discovered in a black case.
She said that when checks were conducted in the hotel records, there were no entries made with regards to details of the deceased person.
“The supervisor of the hotel, identified as Prince Osei, and the receptionist, George Frimpong, are in custody assisting in investigations,” DSP Tenge indicated.
