President John Mahama has charged the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to reduce the sale of Marine Gas oil by more than 20 per cent.
According to him, the move is part of efforts to attract more vessels into the country. Another contract for the expansion of Ghana’s Ports will be signed soon.
President Mahama disclosed this during the opening of the Ghana Air Cargo Center and Swiss Sports Cargo facility at the Kotoka International Airport. The 17,000 square meter cargo center is arguably Africa’s best cargo facility and expected to ensure that global standards are met to reduce the rejection of produce from Ghana abroad.
“I have also explored with the National Petroleum Authority a reduction in the price of Marine gas oil by more than 20% in order to make Ghana a port of choice in terms of loading for ships in Marine gas oil,” he said.
