Mboma City have been crowned champions of the 2019 edition of the Happy Man Bitters inter-community soccer competition (HAMISOC) after they defeated Mighty Warriors 1-0, courtesy Wisdom Abochi in the first half.
Kajelo Holy Stars also defeated Mission Warriors for the third place.
The competition, which has grown to become the most prestigious soccer competition in the region, was graced by distinguished sports personalities, including Coach C.K Akonnor, Coach Samuel Boadu of Medeama FC and Coach Hamza Mohammed.
The tournament also had the Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional area, Balinia Adda Aniakwo Asagpare II, as the special guest of honour.
In his key note address, he expressed gratitude to the CEO of Charger Limited, Dr. Bortey Borketey, for always investing in the youth of Navrongo.
He also charged everyone to always remember to say a prayer for the CEO and his businesses.
In his address read on his behalf, Dr. Borketey also expressed his appreciation to the paramount chief for the warm reception given to him and his team.
He also advised the youth to focus on developing their talents as the world now relies on talent as a mean to poverty alleviation.
He expressed his appreciation to the Fehna Entertainment for always putting in their best effort to having an exciting event.
The three-month long competition was themed ‘Rise As One, Win As All’, it and started with 12 teams from the two Kasena Nankana Districts divided into groups of  two, playing in an away or home format.
The winners went home with a cash prize of GH¢3,000, a giant trophy for keep, a set of jerseys and medals. Mighty Warriors also went home with a cash prize of GH¢1,500, a set of jerseys and silver medals.
Kajelo Holy Stars went home with GH¢1,000, a set of jerseys and bronze medals while Mission Warriors went home with a set of jerseys. All the teams also had appearance fee and qualification fees.
