As part of activities lined-up to celebrate this year’s Christmas, Media Excel, an event organising firm, will host a three-day musical event dubbed ‘Kwahu Republic Music Festival’ at Kwahu Abetifi in the Eastern Region.
The three-day music festival, slated from Sunday, December 24 to Tuesday December 26, will witness performances from 30 Ghanaian highlife, gospel and hiplife artistes.
The music festival, according to the organisers, is being held to celebrate Ghanaian music and promote culture and tourism.
The event is also intended to create and promote sustainable businesses and open up job opportunities for the people of the Eastern Region through the arts.
The event will kick off with old timers’ night on December 24 and it will witness performances from highlife icons such as Amakye Dede, legendary Nana Ampadu, Aberekyereba Kofi Sammy, Nana Tufuor, among others.
There will be a gospel night concert on December 25 and it will feature gospel giants such as S.P Kofi Sarpong, Nacee, Kwadwo Ampong, Piesie Esther, Nicholas Omane Acheampong and others.
On December 26, the organisers will climax the festival with an event dubbed
‘Hiplife Night’ at Abetifi.
It will also witness performances from hiplife artistes like Patapaa, Shata Wale, Ebony, Stone Bwoy, Wutah and many others
