Residents of Osu and its catchment areas had the time of their lives after witnessing star-studded performances from Ghana’s decorated Afrobeat and rap acts last Saturday at the forecourt of the Mantse’s palace for the Osu edition of the MTN Ghana MoMo festival.

The Osu edition of the MoMo festival began on Friday, August 29, to Saturday, August 30; these days were filled with total enjoyment, fun, and souvenir packages for loyal customers.

DJ Lord OTB, EL, and King Jerry, who were the early performers on the night, had the fans begging for more. With EL performing his old tracks such as “Auntie Martha”, “Uncle Mary”, “Auntie Mother”, “Obuu Mo”, “Kaalu”, “One Ghana”, “Shelele”, “Mi Naa Bo Po”, “Koko”, “See Me Sometime”, “Abaa” and “Pay Like a Boss”, one could hear fans singing along word for word.

O’Kenneth further lit up the stage with his popular verses on Yaw Tog’s “Sore” and Kawabanga’s “Akatafoc”, making the crowd yearn for more. As a member of the Asakaa group, which pioneered Ghana’s drill music scene, O’Kenneth performed other hit songs, including “Yimayɛ”, “Agyeiwaa”, and “Lonely Road”.

The much-awaited act on the night, Medikal, registered his inclusion as the most appreciated act in Ghana, performing songs like “Not Searching”, “Sowutuom”, “La Hustle”, “Odo”, and “Street Code”, to the hit of the moment, “Shoulder”, which features Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM.

Organised by Mobile Money Limited with the support of MTN Ghana, MoMo Fest goes beyond music – it is about innovation, impact, and community.

At last weekend’s Jamestown edition, Mobile Money Limited, the headline sponsor, introduced service stands where attendees could access MoMo services, MTN SIM replacements, product education, and real-time customer support. The MoMo team also shared fraud prevention tips, empowering customers to stay safe while enjoying the convenience of MoMo.
