Rapper Memphis Bleek has only $100 in cash to his name, according to a report from Bossip.
The website reports that Bleek filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy back in March of this year.
While the Brooklyn wordsmith does have a variety of assets, his liabilities far outweigh those assets. Among the assets listed by Bleek when he filed for bankruptcy were a New Jersey home, a Chevy Impala, clothing, and wedding rings.
In total, his assets are listed at $274,000, but his liabilities are at a staggering $385,000.
His New Jersey home serves as the biggest liability, with $335,000 owed. Other creditors include the IRS and Monmouth County Superior Court.
Back in 2014, Memphis Bleek revealed that he had been working alongside Jay Z with D’USSE, a cognac Hov helped in launching. During an interview with Mikey T The Movie Star, he recalled moving cases of the cognac, which retails for around $50-$60 per bottle.
“I called Jay one day and I was just like ‘Yo, I been doing music since I was 16-years-old, man. I wanna do something different. Something that I think I can’t do,’” Bleek said, during his 2014 interview. “And he was like ‘You ready to put this work in lil’ nigga?’ So, I’m like ‘Of course, man.’ He like ‘Come to the office.’ So, I come to the office or whatever. And then he had the bottle. He’s like ‘Yo, this this new liquor we pushing. I wanna bring you on board.’ So, I’m like ‘Whatever you want me to do I’m there.’ And he was like ‘Let’s see what you can do.’ And ever since then I been out there pushing cases like dope.”
Memphis Bleek’s bankruptcy is currently pending while he works on a payment plan.
