Mike Oquaye Jnr. Assists 570 WASSCE Students

Mike Oquaye presents the cheque to headmistress of Kwabenya Community Senior High School

The 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mike Oquaye Jnr., has made a significant cash donation to the Kwabenya Community Day Senior High School (SHS).

This contribution is aimed at supporting extra classes for the school’s final-year students as they prepare for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

With 570 students benefiting from this initiative, his generosity is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing their academic readiness.

The donation reflects his commitment to education and empowerment of youth in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, recognising the challenges students face in preparing for crucial examinations.

During the visit, he emphasised the importance of providing adequate resources and support to ensure their success, adding that “investing in our youth is investing in the future of our community.”

In addition to his support for the final-year students, Mr. Oquaye Jnr. also took the opportunity to address a pressing environmental issue that affects the school. In response to this, he made an additional donation to the school to curb the challenge of a refuse dump close to the school canteen, as well as relocate the canteen.

After the donations, he visited the site of the refuse dump located close to the school’s canteen to ascertain the situation for himself.

The dump has raised grave concerns among parents and teachers about health risks and hygiene.

During the visit, Mr. Oquaye assured residents that plans were underway for the relocation of the refuse dump to a more suitable location, away from the school premises.

As he campaigns for parliamentary representation, initiatives like these highlight his focus on practical solutions that address the needs of constituents.

With the WASSCE exams approaching, the students at Kwabenya Community Day SHS are set to benefit not only from enhanced academic support, but also from a cleaner, safer environment—both crucial for their success.
