MTN Ghana, as part of its annual support to the La Traditional Council in the Greater Accra Region, has donated GH¢20,000, airtime worth GH¢1,000, and a drinks hamper ahead of this year’s Homowo celebrations.

The donation, received by the La Homowo Planning Committee, forms part of MTN’s core objective of connecting families, friends, and businesses through the services it provides to communities within the traditional area.

Addressing the traditional leaders, Jemima Kotei-Walsh, Chief Customer Relations Officer of MTN Ghana, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting local communities and traditions.

She said MTN was proud to celebrate the Homowo Festival alongside traditional leaders and community members while providing various forms of support.

She added that MTN is also engaging with the community to educate them about its products and services, with particular emphasis on fraud prevention, especially mobile money (MoMo) fraud.

“We are committed to ensuring that our customers are aware and equipped to protect themselves against fraudsters,” Mrs. Kotei-Walsh stressed, and added, “We will continue to provide education and support to safeguard their phones and wallets.”

She further noted that MTN would support trade activities and customer service requests during the festival period, asserting that this demonstrated its dedication to both the community and its customers.

“By supporting local traditions and making meaningful contributions, MTN aims to foster strong relationships with the communities it serves,” she added.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Council, La Shikitele Nii Adjei Koofeh IV expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for its contribution towards the Homowo celebrations.

He also appealed to the telecommunications giant to extend the interventions of the MTN Foundation to the La community to support health, education, and social empowerment projects.
