Nana Asante Bediatuo Thrills With Kete Dance

Nana Bediatuo on the dance floor

Executive Secretary to President Akufo-Addo, Nana Asante Bediatuo, has proven he is also a man of tradition, as he took to the dance floor to exhibit some interesting ‘kete’ dance steps in Koforidua.

‘Kete’ is a very popular Ashanti dance that comes with different gestures to communicate and whoever dances it knows what his or her gestures signify.

Nana Bediatuo, a distinguished lawyer, is known for his fashion taste. But many are oblivious of his love for tradition and not many knew he could dance that well.

He was in Koforidua in the company of Gabby Otchere-Darko and some officials from the Presidency to mourn with Michael Okyere -Baafi, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Free Zones Board, who bid farewell to his late father, Opanin Daniel Otchere, at the Koforidua Jackson’s Park.

A group of ‘kete’ dancers twisted and turned to the sound of the drums to draw cheers and applause from the crowd, which pushed Nana Asante Bediatuo to jump onto the dance floor.

A lot of other mourners, including Mr Okyere-Baafi, joined and showered money on him.

The funeral ceremony was attended by politicians, celebrities and businessmen. Legendary high life musician, Daddy Lumba, was also there to thrill mourners with his tunes.
