BURKINA FASO Ambassador to Ghana, Pingrenoma Zagre, has lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s ‘One District, One Factory’ policy, saying “it is a good example to follow”.
He said the ‘One District, One Factory’ programme has several benefits such as food security and the creation of jobs, just to mention a few, so the policy should be supported by all and sundry.
“The One District, One Factory programme is very laudable and I think it is a good example for all of us in the West African sub-region to follow”, Mr Zagre stated in Kumasi on Saturday.
This was when the Burkina Faso envoy paid a visit to the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Osei Assibey Antwi where they discussed issues concerning Ghana and Burkina Faso’s growth.
Mr Zagre said “Ghana is Kumasi”, stating that the central location of Kumasi makes the city a perfect place to do business, adding that Ghana, in particular Kumasi, has long relations with Burkina Faso.
He stressed the need for Ghana and Burkina Faso to deepen their close ties to help create jobs and wealth for the people of the two sister countries, adding that the two countries have the potential to rapidly transform, working together.
Mr Zagre saluted Osei Assibey Antwi for his tireless effort to make Kumasi look clean and green once again, stating that the KMA chief’s laudable sanitation programme is also worthy of emulation.
On his part, Osei Assibey said Kumasi and Ouagadougou have a long sister-city relationship, and should therefore prioritize the areas they want to do business saying “Ghana and Burkina Faso should move from normal friendship and venture into business for mutual growth”.
He urged Burkina Faso investors to come to Kumasi to do business because the city is well positioned and equipped for business.
Mr Osei Assibey stated that the two countries can work together in the areas of portable water production, plastics and food processing, saying KMA is ready to offer land to any Burkina Faso investor.
