President Akufo-Addo with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during the Qatari leader’s recent visit to Ghana
President Akufo-Addo left the country in the early hours of yesterday for a day’s official visit to Qatar.
The visit is at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who paid an official visit to Ghana on 24th December, 2017.
The reciprocal visit is aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries and exploring other areas of cooperation for their mutual benefit.
The president was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and officials at the Presidency and Foreign Ministry.
President Akufo-Addo is expected home later today, Tuesday, 13th November, 2018.
In his absence, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would act as president in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
